Change email adress
Hi guys,
Just wanted to share with you my experience and seeking some guidance as EA support cant provide fast and accurate informations.
I bought FIFA 20 from xbox store as it is currently in promo. YAY ! The game downloaded during the night and was happy to spend my saturday afternoon playing with friends as In my country we are still locked down due to covid.
Once the game started I am asked to login to EA account and shows by default an old email address from 2011 and asks me to provide a password that I don't remember.
At this time I didn't know that solving this issue will take me more than 9 hours without finding any solution !
- First chat with support 2 PM : "sorry we can do nothing please fill a form, an advisor will look at it (which I understand because I am unable to provide any information about my old account)." And no other solutions except to wait. => I created a first case with basic informations and filled all fields
- In the meantime, in internet Ive found that there's a way to login to EA account using my Xbox credentials. This worked and I was able to see all my personal information's, linked accounts etc but no way to reset the password or change the email address because I don't have access to my old email address.
- Second chat with support 5 PM: I contacted them as now I was able to provide when I created the account, birthday etc... I also contacted the support by being logged to my EA account. Any other customer service can support and provide solutions except EA. For the second time "sorry we can do nothing please fill a form, an advisor will look at it" => I created a second case with informations from my ea account and filled all fields
- Two hours later I received an email from a "Specialist" from support team which probably just looked at the first case and duplicated the second one asking me to provide a more complete form !
- Third chat with support 8 PM: For the third time "sorry we can do nothing please fill a form, an advisor will look at it
If I don't recover access to EA account that would mean that I cant play to online EA games on my xbox. Fortunately I DONT HAVE ANY DIGITAL game on origin/EA.
Should I give up and create a new EA account ? Do someone know how to unlink/delete my ea account ? Can I ask to delete my account without having access to my email address (In case they have a weird policy here to confirm by email) ?
Its the first ever that I struggle that much to recover an account with a customer service and not sure this experience will encourage me to buy EA games again.
