For all the people that have problems with this, i found that the bug doesnt happen on the web app and companion app
so if im on console i basically never touch the season tab. After a gaming session i quickly go onto the web app and collect all my xp and rewards on there.
Its far from ideal and still annoying but atleast it seems to prevent you from losing XP
