Why would it be offline only? and with EAs track record along with how it actually feels in game there is a high chance it is online as well. Hell even the mystery ball (online) BS has in game boosts switched on and off, squad battles handi crudding you clearly in games. You can literally feel it happen in online games even when the opponent hasn't changed formation or tactics..
