MAXLD replied to Move Career Mode to new Profile (PC)

Y, this happened to me today. Very annoying. The settings (files) got completely messed up (difficulty settings, control settings, sound sliders to 0, accessibility (brightness/contrast to 0), etc... every setting value got randomized, set to minimum, or whatever).

The only thing that works is to completely delete the profile and create a new one... which makes the game reset everything back to defaults (including controls, cameras, etc.,)... the big problem is: it doesn't immediately recognize the Career files you still have saved from the old profile.

Workaround to return to the old Career save game (make a backup of "FIFA 20" folder inside your Documents folder, just in case):
- launch the game and delete your profile
- create a new profile
- once inside the main menu: (there's no Load Career option yet) so click to create "New Career" (doesn't matter what type you choose, you can ignore it / delete it later) and save it into an open save slot (don't overwrite your old ones that are shown in the list, obviously)
- return back to the main menu
- on the Career square/button area you can now see there's other options, so click to the side and choose the Load Career option.
- Choose and Load your old Career savegame from the list, and there you go.

(Basically: when you start a new fresh profile, the game basically assumes that you don't have any Career started, so it only offers the option to start a new career. When you then create+save a new one, and go back to the main menu, the option to Load a specific one is now available, and you then can choose from the save files list which save to load).

Since it's a new profile, all your game settings will be set to default, so you just have to set your preferences once again (sound, cameras, difficulty, controls, ...). Annoying, but at least that's more tolerable than getting all your Career progress go down the drain and having to really start a new one from scratch... (specially if this crappy bug occurs more often in the near future...)

I think that should cover it.
