I bet it's this more than anything. Here's what I do to keep distractions to a minimum and have fun. Having fun stops you from stressing and substantially reduces your tension helping you play with reflexes rather than worry and tension. I know trying to have fun with the current installment of FIFA is not easy.
1. The commentators often **** me off so I don't have them turned on. Game is on silent. They can sometimes make bad comments that antagonise.
2. I listen to my favourite tunes that relax and create an upbeat mood. Concentrate on the music and where it takes and just play the game as a secondary thing.
3. When I sit down to play the game I am not playing for life and death but I am experimenting with my squad. So I set little goals and concentrate on those. For example, let's see how many tackles I can get this game. That helps me defend and my concentration is just on that goal and not the full outcome. This goal I know will go a long way towards helping me win but I don't think about that.
4. I don't play game after game. To reduce the stress even more. After a WL game play a squad battle or something to just relax and try a couple of things. Don't let the stress build. Especially if you are losing.
Mind you I'm no Boras. Sometimes I go on a 10 game winning streak but have experienced 4-5 losses in a row often as well. But mostly when I've been mentally not in a good place and let the emotions take over.
