The servers are bad. But they aren’t responsible for as much as people like to think. That is all I will say.

explain the code then. If ahead by 2 goals; increase difficulty by 0.25

I’m saying what you posted is likely something that is blamed on the servers more often than it should be.

Based on what? Your insider knowledge?

Hes saying these are thing most people blame on lagg and server issues, when its clearly coded in the game to aid the lesser players

There is a significant amount of evidence out there on the performance and impact of EAs servers on the the game. There is zero evidence that the settings posted impact the behaviour of FUT online (actual evidence not just conspiracy theories)

Although using an INI file like this for something as fundamental as balancing difficulty in the game (whether offline, online or both) is pretty amateur stuff from EAs developers. In which case yeah actually it does make sense

Even offline it's a pretty **** approach if the game still allows you to select a difficulty in the first place

Surely you cannot be this naive. Granted there is no "smoking gun," in that this could just apply to offline gameplay, but there is overwhelming evidence that scripting exists, and here it is: PLAY THE GAME. I have played fifa for over 10 years, and FUT for about 5, and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that scripting, or rubber banding, or whatever you want to call it, does in fact exist. First of all, it is clearly noticeable once you take a lead. Your team starts reacting slower, making worse passes and shots, etc. This can easily be explained by scripting, in that EA simply remove the "assistance" involved in a lot of the different features and movements in the game. It's not simply something you can chalk up to the servers when, for years of playing this game, the moment you go 1 or 2 up, your opponent 's team plays noticeably better than yours. Some might say "well pros still find a way to go 30-0, so you must be wrong." This is not true, because pros are simply good enough at the game to overcome the scripting mechanics. If you are playing someone you are significantly better than, the scripting won't be enough to dictate the outcome.

Secondly, scripting makes perfect sense from the standpoint of EA's business model. One of EA's, and frankly any company's, biggest concerns is people losing interest in their game. The easiest way for someone to lose interest in the game is by not being good enough to stay competitive. By incorporating scripting, it allows people who are worse than their opponents to have a decent chance to still win despite this, keeping people playing the game. Also, by doing this, wins and losses are decided by much less of a difference, which encourages people to buy packs, with the mentality being "if I can just get that one or two more players, I could start winning a lot more." Scripting makes perfect sense from EA's perspective, and is extremely likely given both the coding clips we have seen in the past, and how obvious it is in the game play to anyone who has played this game regularly over the years.

It's not a case of being naive, but just because event A can be explained by theory X does not mean there is overwhelming evidence for it being true. My experience of playing the game isn't quite as simplistic as yours. I haven't noticed my team getting immediately worse every time I take the lead at all. I do see changes in input delay etc fairly regularly, random AI movements etc but certainly not in every single game and certainly not every time I take the lead

Like I say, I'm sure it's quite possible that there's something like this in the game - it's not a new approach in gaming - but the file mentions changes in specific levels of difficulty which don't exist outside offline/SB modes. I don't think it's unreasonable to question therefore how this represents evidence that it affects online games as well
