Auto switching is part of the problem, disable it in fut champs and rivals and the effect will be vastly reduced.

This is what I believe people do, drop back, 1 depth, 1 width plus team pressing, combine that with one of the mentalities and fast build up and it creates a perfect storm. If people use fast build up plus drop back there should be a noticable affect on fitness, as it is the AI can sprint up and down the pitch the whole game without there being a impact on fitness, people have played this way against me for 120 minutes and there has been no let up.

I've watched closely what happens when my strikers have the ball and I'm on the attack, think of the opposite team as a box and your player is in the middle of that box, all sides of that box close in on you and you will get suffocated whilst your passing options remain outside of that contracting box, due to the AI interceptions and their inspector gadget legs it is impossible to pass it out of that ever contracting box.

It is actually worse than Fifa 19 because at least then you had the option of being able to score from long shots, or headers, or corners and passes and through balls actually went where you wanted them to go. Unfortunately the game favours those that play with AI defending and I am almost at the point of wanting to give up on this game.
