Cannavaro or VVD?
This yr tho with crossing and heading the way it is, perhaps not so much so.
I also have nesta and plan on pirlo fm swaps,,, eventually maybe trying out adp and prime baggio. So the italian connection could be good.
Im also hesitant at spending 650k on a nif gold,, who in all likelihood will drop down in price like a stone at some point. Icons tend to hold value ,,usually anyway a little longer.
Has anyone tried both? Is vvd worth all that? 89 Cannavaro is about 100k cheaper.

Also, on 87 vs 89 Cannavaro: I've only used the 87, but the defensive abilities are plenty good on the 87 card, so I think the added pace you get with that one is important.

I've been using 87 Cannavaro for the past 50 games and he is really good. He is quick and strong and he has some amazing animations where he just comes sliding out of nowhere to block shots. He also feels pretty good on the ball and his passing has been less of an issue than I thought it would be.
I only used VVD in the very beginning of the game with a 7-game loan card, so I don't have as informed of an opinion on him. Obviously he taller, stronger and has a bigger body type and is a great CB. But given that headers are less of an issue this FIFA, I think this is a good year to be using shorter, quicker CBs like Cannavaro, so I'd give him a whirl.
I also agree with your point about price. 87 Cannavaro's price has been stable and will likely stay that way once baby icons are out of packs, so I think there is much risk in buying him and using him for a while.

Thanks,, i might have to try the 89 ,, dont want to spend every last coin, esp if need some this week to get players for whatever the icon swap requirements are,, the 87 is about 100k more,, will try and get one with a shadow card tho to make up the difference in pace.

I have player near 500 games with 89 cannavaro.
He is amazing, he's like Kante only as a cb and like somebody said heading is not important this year which makes him even better than in previous years.
