Can't play FIFA 20 online with EA child account on Xbox one

Hi there.

My son wants to play FIFA 20 with his friends on xbox one. I setup an EA child account (bad move!) and attached it to his xbox profile where he can play other games with the same friends. When they invite him to a game he gets the error the session has ended. If he tries to start a game he gets an error saying he can't connect to the EA servers. It's not a connection error because FIFA happily syncs with the server when it starts up.

I suspect that because he's 12 he's not allowed to play online according to  EA - even though his xbox profile allows him to play online games.

Is there a way of either:

- changing his EA account to not be underage

- removing the EA account from his xbox profile (and then I'd create a new one and attach it).

Otherwise it appears that I have to create a new microsoft account, xbox profile, re-purchasing xbox gold live and create a new EA account! Crazy.

Thanks

Andy
