Here is why fifa 20 cant be taken seriously.
Me vs a poor opponent 1 go 3-0 up and he decideds to put his controller down.
Now im trying to score and how difficult it is when someone is not controlling is a joke, old fifas you could walk in a straight line to the goal.
In a fighting game if one player isnt at his controller would his fighter try block punches ofcourse not.
1. I pass at the back to waste time
2. I decide to go for a goal as soon as I do a forward pass his AI sprints to me and interceptd the ball
3. I get it back and play williams who has 90+ pace through
4. Somehow Sokratis and Luiz are both following his run prefectly and keeping up with him without my opponent doing anything.
5. Then sokratis wins the ball on his own
6. The david luiz tackles me
7 after this I scored from a rebound the keepe saved and went to luiz but he wasnt at his controller there to clear
Jesus EA the AI should not be this powerful.

If you were changing direction or doing skills and his Ai tracked you perfectly that would be an issue, but if you just run forward in a straight line at his defender what do you want them to do? I don’t expect them to track you closely, I don’t expect them to anticipate skill moves, but if you walk straight at them they should tackle you.
You say that David luiz tackles upwards but he doesn’t have to move towards you. He stands in one place and tackles, again you run straight into him.
If you done a single fake shot or heel to heel you would have walked straight through his defence. But you can’t expect to have Ai assistance on offence and none on defence.
AI offence ? I press L1 to make Williams make a run did you see the run he chose lol ?
Surely when theres 1 striker and 2 defenders , not controlling any of them has to be punished ?
Its more the fact that williams is sprinting and they r keeping up with him.
Before this hand holding, if someone is making a clear dangerous run you had to switch to a defender to follow him or block the pass lane but now you have to do neither because the AI will do it for you.
That was the whole point of 2nd man press, you try to win the ball, you see a dangerous run , you switch to cover the run while hding second man press, that is manual defending, now you can chase the ball knowing the AI will follow, im not talking about good fifa players here who know how to defend.
Players who are poor at the game should not have AI helping them so much that they have a good defensive game.
So again I’ll ask what do you think should happen? You take the ball and run directly at his defender, should they move out of your way? Should all of his defence not run back when your attack runs forward?
I’ve had many occasions where I’ve had to leave my controller for a few seconds and have conceded right away. I think they managed to bypass the Ai by changing direction and passing a few times..

The defence has to be controlled by the Ai to a certain extent. Yes his defenders should track back without him controlling them. What’s the alternative? He controls one defender and the other 9 outfield players just stand in one place, while you attack with the Ai controlling everyone in you team minus the ball holder. So it’s your 5 players running at his one defender?

I have to agree with the poster. Sometimes, during Rivals I'll get sidetracked in the middle of a contest while playing defense, dog jumps up in my lap..someone walks in front of the TV, etc. When I focus back I've somehow, inexplicably, got possession back again. So, yeah, it's quite likely the AI might play better (at times) than someone actively using a controller.

I might moan about headers and rightly so but bloody hell , who ever is attacking is rubbish.
You can't run straight at any player and think you can be like a ghost and just breeze past , you need space.
The fact in this is your expecting defenders of high quality to be out of position , you ran down the middle against 2 CBs and expect them not to put a foot out if you run not just at them but into them PMSL😂😂😂😂

Regardless of the video, the point is a valid one. I was helping someone do objectives the other day and the amount of magnetising and tracking from the ai was silly. We've all experienced this I'm sure.
At some point the ball will end up at the feet of one of your defenders. You'll stand there inactive to let him take the ball back, and it can sometimes take 4 or 5 tackles before he successfully dislodges the ball.
There's an awful lot wrong with the design of this franchise. Patches won't help. It really requires rebuilding.

Your asking for proof the AI is overpowered really ? Go ask any pro player or anyone who can get more than 20 wins on weekend league and they will tell you how OP it is.

I would say you show the problem with offense being to easy. You time wasted to the point that he got bored. Then expected to score making bad passes and running in a straight line.

He's clearly sets his tactics to pressure, you can see them swarm forward at seven seconds. Whether or not he's using his controller to move players, that's just how it seems to work (sucks but hey we knew that from last year).
You then at 15 seconds, despite running into open space, pass to a guy who has two defenders right in front of him. You then run in a straight line towards the goal and those defenders.
You don't really change direction at the second defender because you've got your finger on the sprint button. When you do that you have less control over the ball. You end up knocking the ball forward into his right foot. He barely moves and it certainly isn't anything like the usual AI go-go-gadget-lunge.
Whether or not the players weren't responding to your commands, that wouldn't surprise me, but there's no way we'd ever be able to tell that from a video. Not sure what you expect. Regardless, you messed up dude. Should have just carried on running with your first guy.

Were someone who hasnt played fifa can put these tactics and already he will have a decent defence?
I think you have to learn to defend manually, not put some tactics that will make your defence do most of the work for you.
I get where your coming from there is a lot of bs in this game, it's just a bit of a grey area in terms of the AI defence as we can only control 1 player there has to be an element of AI or it wouldn't look like a football game, it's hard to get the balance completely right with it and I wish EA were more transparent about the overall balance of the gameplay and how they see it

What should happen is what happened before these game killing patches the AI would do the basics, the stay in position and move about but if theres danger in their area they have to be controlled for them to tackle
or intercept. So in this situation you would control one defender and the other would provide basic cover.
If im pressing L1 say to make a striker make a run in behind and he does so, you dont see the run and dont switch to any defenders you should be punished.
Im not accepting that playing against nobody (someone who is not holding their controller) should be harder to score against than semi-pro mode.
Thats like saying when you play tekken it should be harder to defeat an online player not holding their controller than the AI on easy mode.
Right now if someone doesnt hold their controller your playing against the cpu defence on world class basically, they can sprint, run, tackle, intercept, block, follow runs, why even defend if they can do all this.

This is exactly what im talking about.
When the AI is sprinting and intercepting, keeping pace with someone with 90 pace and tackling then for me its overpowered.
I just played a game I won 2-1 he had 1 shot to my 18 he had 27% poss.
His goal was from a manual tackle of mine and he still retained the ball and scored then most of my attacks break down from his AI making interceptions and clearences its just not right.

It is a grey area between AI being too strong and too weak however this is the last 3 fifas now that on release the defence was manual, and every patch has made them stronger, it got to a stage on fifa 19 most players just weren't controlling defenders at all the full game because the AI was better than them.

Hardly time wasting against an opponent who is not there is it ? Im wanting tbe game to end quicker im already winning 3-0.

You play for 20 years getting better and defending then suddenly its auto defending this guy can drop his controller and his defenders will perform better.

Defending should be fully manual, not tactics to help your AI tackle and intercept, my clip is irrelevant in this statement, the AI should not sprint to intercept passes and make tackles.
My player is making a run, a poor one yes but my opponent should be punished for not fully manually defending but he isnt.

So your sprinting through his mbape your opponent is sitting controlling his striker, both CBs with less than 75 pace are keeping up with you and your fine with that, dont talk out your ****.
Uncontrolled defenders SHOULD NOT TACKLE jesus **** christ all these manual defending hater on here with their **** records and probably have played the game for like 6 years.
Needing their hand held at every opportuninty, this is the reason the bring out patches, bet you guys were all crying before the patches because defending was manual, you could literally walk past an u controlled defenders before these patches stopped the noob tears
Ive played for 20+ years and finish top 150 every seasons I dont need advice from people who have terrible records but only care about who they pack and when they r going to buy more fifa points.

He's clearly sets his tactics to pressure, you can see them swarm forward at seven seconds. Whether or not he's using his controller to move players, that's just how it seems to work (sucks but hey we knew that from last year).
You then at 15 seconds, despite running into open space, pass to a guy who has two defenders right in front of him. You then run in a straight line towards the goal and those defenders.
You don't really change direction at the second defender because you've got your finger on the sprint button. When you do that you have less control over the ball. You end up knocking the ball forward into his right foot. He barely moves and it certainly isn't anything like the usual AI go-go-gadget-lunge.
Whether or not the players weren't responding to your commands, that wouldn't surprise me, but there's no way we'd ever be able to tell that from a video. Not sure what you expect. Regardless, you messed up dude. Should have just carried on running with your first guy.
Just so I am clear.
Ive played fifa since 1998 and up until around fifa 15 if an opponent isnt at his controller you could walk in a straight line and not even be touched.
So you guys r saying never mind my runs or commands.
You are happy for 2 CBs to follow a runner who has over 90 pace?
You are okay for one of them to take the ball and try shield it and you are okay for the other CB to tackle ?
I dont care his tactics, playing nobody should be easier to score than playing on Beginner but it isn't.
Im literally playing nobody and its harder than plaing on beginner.
And for messing up I was 3-0 I was just mucking around.
And I can tell you this playing for over 20 years finishing top 150 every year online was implemented.
Theres no way in hell my AI would have reacted the same way his did.

These replies see nothing wrong with.
1. My pass reciever slowing down
2. His uncontrolled pepe sprinting and intercepting
3. My 90+ pace williams making a terrible run from my L1 make run command
4. David Luiz and Sokratis uncontrolled keeping up with 90+ pace
5. Sokratis taking the ball uncontrolled and trying to shield
6. David Luiz TACKLING UNCONTROLLED in an upwards direction.
Theres one play that has multiple things wrong with it and people just sit there ah who cares I packed a Gareth Bale ill sit here and have AI hold my hand so I can have my 50% win rate lol.

This community is a joke, know nothing about football, Williams makes the **** run straight NOT ME !!
David Luiz tackles in an upward direction how the **** can people be okay with this amount of AI interference.
And even if i didnt change direction upwards at luiz and tried to just run past he should not intercept if he is not being controlled.

So lets take these 2 replies.
The first reply. It should be easier to score against an online opponent who isn't holding his controller than anything else on the game, the fact your saying it should be easier to score against a poor opponent than no opponent at all is ridiculous.
So a poor opponent who is struggling to defend should drop his pad to make his defence better😂😂 this statement shows right here what level of player you are when you think AI hand holding is a good thing.
Second reply, you can clearly see my left winger slow down while his pepe uncontrolled sprints and intercepts the ball , secondly AI off the ball runs after the last patch are terrible , im smashing the L1 button for williams to make runs but all he does is run forward, theres nothing more I can do to make williams move any other way then press l1 or r1 for his runs.
The fact u think its ok for one uncontrolled CB to intercept and try hold me off and for the other to tackle upwards when I try run past him is beyond belief.
And u can clearly see I change my direction upwards past him and he tackles upwards.
AI defenders should do BASICS, not intercept, not follow runs perfectly at full spend and certainly not tackle opponents.

I cant take you seriously if you think that it should be easier to score against ai, in comparison to a bad player who moves players out and makes spaces for you left and right.
Do you want the ai to move out of your way by itself?
