VOLTA needs both EA Account & PSN Plus !?

I bought FIFA 20 for PS4, use in Japan.

We, I and my 11 years old son tried FIFA 20 through EA Access,

my son was very excited about VOLTA mode!!

So I decided to buy FIFA 20.

 

But after release date,

he says "I can't play VOLTA..."

 

I googled the messsage on the screen, it means my son can't be online because...

  • my son is under 13 and not enough to create EA Account
  • my son is playing with PSN sub account, its main account is mine

He was very looking forward to play VOLTA.

I didn't know there are 2 walls to play (sigh)

 

In FIFA18 and 19, he also disappointed when he knew he couldn't play FUT, so played JOURNEY and solo match vs CPU.

If I knew 20 is without VOLTA for my son, I bought him for Nintendo SWITCH.

I strongly recommend, OPEN VOLTA for everyone no online connection.

Me too, I bought this for my kids knowing that FUT is not available for an account under 13 having had previous FIFA's.  They played and enjoyed the single player Journey mode in previous games, they are now very disappointing that they can't play VOLTA and there is no single player story mode!  I setup my kids PS4 accounts honestly to control what they can access etc. EA have just took my parental controls away from me! 

 

The game is marked as suitable for 3+ years yet you actually need to be over 13 to access the whole game?

For sure. My frustration with EA grows with each coming edition of FIFA. All the hoops you need to jump through to find out your kids can't play a football game is just beyond ridiculous. Why the need to have 7 accounts just to play a feature you already paid for by purchasing the game?  Why make this feature separate from the other game? Why not just include a 5v5 futsal version you can access offline? EA, you waste our time. Make the process simple. We just want to play your game and access the features we have paid for in the purchase.

Same here.

 

It is an absolute joke that they market the Volta part as being the main attraction and then lock

it away behind a wall that kids can’t access.

 

EA should be ashamed of themselves.
