Do you miss icon SBCs?
EA giving out free icons isn’t a bad thing, but I really miss the icon SBCs. EA stated they wanted to offer a better variety of squads, but we have the same 20 core players being used.

Last year we had prime Rio, yet this year we don’t know the schedule for when icon swaps 2 will be released.

Further in the game what do we do with icons we don’t use anymore? Can’t throw them in for a 100k pack.

At least you knew where you stood with the SBCs and the investing / trading side of it was always fun. The good old days when an 88 walkout was worth more than a fast 83 rated. Do you miss SBCs and futswap or prefer the new format?

Don't see why we can't have both tbh. Very pricey sbc for prime icons (select ones if it needs to be) and icon swaps for people that enjoy grinding objectives and **** and don't have a lot of coins.

Woukd keep value in the market and keep achievement hunters happy while keeping interest in others in the menu side of things.

Edit basically what @DannySTFC said if I'd bothered reading before posting.

Icon swaps are horrible.

I want to play the game with MY team not a team of players EA want me to use espcially in rivals.

If there was an objective game mode where everyone was using said players and a less competative mode with minor to no rewards I might consider grinding icon swaps.

But the whole idea to me is pretty poor from my pov.

And I miss working toward an sbc. Each week completing one or two sets.

I prefer ICON swaps personally. The SBCs would cost a fair but and a player I wanted in November wouldn't necessarily be a player I wanted in April.

I see people saying that this is EAs way of stopping them getting the top tier ICONs. Can you link me to the leak of sets 2 and 3 if that's the case?

This will also lead to more variety in squads. Say in set 2 you get to choose between Viera Gullit and Zidane and then set 3 you have Dinho Eusebio and R9 to choose from. People will have more variety in their squads because of this.

I really like icon swaps. Even an average player can have a good icon in their side by December without spending a penny, EA aren’t usually that generous so I think they deserve a lot of praise for this idea.

Personally I think icon swaps should steadily improve but never get to the heights of Eusebio etc, the top 15-20 icons on the game should still have their SBC available.

I don’t see a problem with a mixture of the two, icon swaps for the lower and mid tier level icons, the prime big dogs should have SBCs.

I like the swaps idea alot (part from having to play squad battles)

I do think that the untradebale card we pick should upgrade to the best version of the player that's available in packs to make them useable all year.

As much as I think it's great that we can earn icons by just playing, it's very frustrating that the only way of getting hold of the best versions of these icons is going to be off of the market.

Even a lot of us on here, that put in a lot of effort and time into this game, are going to be priced out of being able to get hold of the best Prime Moments icons.

Icon SBCs make the top icons attainable if you put a decent amount of time and effort in, which is how it should be in my opinion.

It's a shame they didn't add Icon Swaps to compliment Icon SBCs rather than replace them!
