The Future of Fifa is back
Last Fifa I made a topic with some much needed changes imo. This year the topic comes way faster because I feel EA have totally lost feeling with their customers. They seem to have absolutely no clue how to turn things around anymore. Proof is gameplay patch 6 in only 1,5 months time. Some of these ideas will be seen by some of you in various content creator vids. I have tried and build up 1 stable future plan. Have any of you touched the new Volta mode? Like on a regular basis?
First of all, I can not stress this enough. The frostbite engine is NOT up to the task and the coding is trash. I do feel the servers are a part of the problem, but the problem lies deeper than that. But I don't want to talk about that part of the game. I want to talk about everything that happens around content.
1. The gameplay modes :
Remove Weekend League. It's actually ridicilous that your so called most competitive mode is now actually more casual than Division Rivals. Make Rivals the competitive mode but expand your skill ratings. It's no good that someone with 1700 skill rating has to play the better and best players ALL THE TIME. No other game has this. No one wants to play sweaty stressfull games all the time. People need a few chill games aswell.
Bring back tournament/season mode. Make this your casual thing. Make it so that you no longer have to wait a week every time for rewards. If you finish the tournament/season EA might actually benefit from this because prices will not be high on a certain day and be on theirl owest on another.
Reshape draft mode. At this moment it makes no sense that you have to pay to play a mode.
2. Packs :
It could be so simple. Remove pack fillers. Make it about PLAYERS and players only. No one cares about every pack being full of position changes, chemistry styles and contracts. Remove contracts, fitness, position changes, training items and chemistry styles from the game alltogether. Your player has the stats he has, no need to be able to boost it with chemistry styles.
3. Customize your club :
There could be so many more options about customizing the club. Stadia, kits, balls are only a basis. Make them obtainable in the catalogue. Or make them obtainable by certain challenges. They don't have to be in every pack because almost everyone will buy the stuff they want off the market just once.
4. Challenges :
EA has only touched the tip of the iceberg concerning challenges. But I feel they are doing it the wrong way. Look at Call of Duty for example. The game is filled with challenges for every weapon and attachment at the start of the game. EA seriously need to take a look at this and think outside of their tiny box. Make it possible to get novelty items for your club and players with challenges. I have to give EA one thing tough, the Politano challenge is actually a good one.
5. Players :
How come nowadays everyone is using the same meta players. 95% of the playerbase only has use for SBC's. That's beyond ridicilous. They have been neglecting career mode for years. Why not implement it partially into FUT. It's obvious that's the only gamemode they want to put (minimal) effort into. Make your playercards upgradeable by completing challenges with them. They can even use SOFIFA database for a max rating. Make it possible to get a dynamic image on your players, or a different color card. The sky is the limit. But make all this possible BY PLAYING THE GAME. Right now if you don't do menucontent you won't be able to get a great team. It's easy : you buy or you trade. If you play the game more than anyone on this planet, you still won't have enough income to get what the creditcardguys or the better traders have.
Examples for playerchallenges could be : play X amount of minutes with him; get X amount of clean sheets with him playing at least X amount of minutes in that game; score X amount of goals; give X amount of assists; get X amount of succesfull tackles.
They have so many options and potential.
6. Icons :
For me there are way too many Icons. So many that they kinda lost their status imo. But that's personal. I would rather see fewer Icons and only 1 version of them. But make them upgradeable by the same system as regular players.But given they are Icons, the challenges can be harder.
7. Chemistry :
I'm not feeling the system right now. People using a 4-4-2 for example to give as much chemistry as possible only to change ingame right away. Just let everyone start out with 1 chemistry and let people build it up the more the players play for them. Strong or perfect links from the system now can start of with more chemistry if this sounds too radical. Same with player positions. It's beyond BS that a striker can play cdm on 10 chemistry but a LW can not play RW on more than 5. Why not use a new stat and call it "position awareness". Make it so that a player can play more than 1 position on good chem but have it make sense. No striker should be a center back etc...
8. Fitness :
Remove the cards. If your players are tired than you rotate. No more 11 man teams with 3 supersubs and a bronze bench. Make fitness recover in between games tough so that you don't have to rotate every 2 games.
