We are sorry but there has been an Error Connecting to FIFA 20 Ultimate Team.

I have had this issue resolved but am posting this onto the forum to A) Help people who potentially are about to have hours of their time wasted as well. And B) To raise the issue in the hope that I am somehow compensated for the money I spent on the FUT Draft I was disconnected from that I received absolutely nothing for, the days I have been unable to access the service and the hours of my time I have wasted in trying to resolve it.

 

I was disconnected during a FUT Draft final 10 days ago and would see the message "We are sorry but there has been an Error Connecting to FIFA 20 Ultimate Team. You will be returned to the FIFA 20 Main Menu." every time I tried to open FUT although I could still sign in to the EA Servers and access other online services. This problem would still occur even if I went over to a friends house and signed in on their PlayStation using their WiFi - which told me it was very clearly an issue with my FUT account and not my connectivity. I have only now just got access back to my FIFA Ultimate Team after spending over 3 hours on the phone to customer services and technical support throughout that time period. I spoke to at least 4 different advisors and nobody would listen to what I had to say and were far too occupied on running the exact same tests that the previous advisors had suggested to me. The issue was resolved solely because I insisted that there was an issue with my FUT account and not my connection after only being advised to run connectivity troubleshooting despite continuously providing the advisors with evidence that the issue lies with my account and not my connection, finally an advisor listened and passed the message onto the correct team who solved the issue in a matter of minutes.

 

To summarise for anybody who faces this issue: follow the connectivity tests that the EA Team suggest for you to run, but make sure you are listened to and if the connectivity tests are doing nothing then insist that somebody looks into the account as that is the only thing that resolved my issues. Also, do not expect any form of compensation no matter how much money and time you have wasted in the process as according to the telephone team "EA customer services do not offer any form of compensation, unless the problem is brought up on the online forum and enough people experience the same issue that team decide it is worthy of compensation" which I find absolutely baffling and just ridiculously poor from a service point of view, especially considering the amount of money that customers spend on this game throughout the year.
