Guess I've been left behind :(
I don't know how to magically absorb the ball if an opponent comes within 2 meters of me
I dont know how to run through tackle after tackle and win the ball back immediately every time
I dont know how to throw my opponent to the floor without giving away a foul
I dont understand why my opponents players block shots and intercept passes like gods while my AI controlled players will happily let the ball roll an inch past their foot
I don't understand why when I try drop back 1 depth my defenders are still on the half way line but opponents seem to have 8 goal keepers
I cant work out what more I can do to stop conceding so many rebounds and why I rarely score any
I dont know how to do that cut back pass that will ALWAYS find your striker in a packed area for an easy tap in
3 weeks ago I was in div 3 and finished WL 22-8.
Today I am struggeling in DIV 6 and currently 3-8 in WL.
I have tried loads of formations, tactics and players but nothing seems to be working.
I have played so much FIFA over the years including this year that I have a play style and good and bad habbits that got me through until 3 weeks ago. Now my play style is just not viable to the point I'm wasting my time by even tying to play.
Gutted.

I know you'll have done this already but check out some video tutorials on defending. Boras (spelled the sound way and not the fat sweaty gimp way) has at least one really good one, and his voice isn't the equivalent of nails being scraped down a blackboard.
Pick a formation (preferably with at least one cdm) and stick with it through losses as well wins.until you've played say 15--20. Bin if it's ****, keep as a potential formation if you have a decent record. Try not to chop and change. Complete the defensive skill ganes. Remember you'll tilt when in a losing streak so have a cup of tea or a beer or a Chinese or something till you can come back mentally refreshed.
Do the skill games.

Its depressing to say, but likely give it a day or two, hit reset a bit in terms of tactics, and start playing and you will suddenly be back to your better level again.
Unless you are really good at this game, the inconsistent gameplay just makes you go up and down like mad. I went from Div 6 to Div 3,over the course of a week, then suddenly couldnt buy a win - same players, same tactics, same play style.

Same thing happened to me... i can positioning my defender body to body tight with an opponent and he will not block the ball.
Meanwhile my opponent's players block and auto intercept from every angle and distance.
Every game. Since a week or 2 back.

I'm doing better after the patch. I'm in D2 now. The thing is it's like learning a new game after each patch and having to adjust your playstyle.

Play 4231 and leave everything as standard. No instructions or ct. see how you get on and make small changes each game from there. Oppo Keeps getting in behind? Drop to 4 depth. Can’t create chances? Bump players in box to six. It may take a bit of time but you will find your sweet spot eventually.

Are you willing to ditch your team mix it up a bit and try out a cheap team that overperforms
Not sure how to post pics since tiny pic rip'd but I have a lot of high rated untradeables i build around. potm auba, potm lewandowski, scream hulk, guardiola, allan, scream romagnoli ect... not top level but good enough.

Appreciate it but i know the fundementsls, the things that are changing results are not in skill games

I kind of agree, but i have never gine from being pretty good to completely terrible because of 1 patch

Don't forget how their places chase after you like headless chickens, sprint up and down the pitch the whole game, and that has no effect on their fitness levels whatsoever.

Doesnt make it right, my online win rate is sitting at 80%, you do realise its the better players like kurt, inception, stallion, top 150 seasons and FUT players that moan about this stuff ?
But because 90% of the fifa players are average or worse EA appease them by making defending easier and the skill gap is reduced, so many game features have been removed to reduce the skill gap, countless game mechanics changes to give rubbish players a fighting chance.
