Fifa 20 Linking Nintendo Switch to EA account

Hi. My son (age 11) has had a Nintendo Switch for a while now, but has just purchased Nintendo online membership. I can't work out how to link his user account to our EA account. I can link my user and I can play online. But when selecting his user in Fifa 20 it doesn't give me an option to login in to our EA account. It just says "Unable to login". Help please! Thanks
