No  it's just a crash that a lot of people especially on Virgin Media are getting, something to do with EAs latest update with special cards. I had this problem and I initialised my ps4 and re-installed fifa 20 but same problem. Then I went into network settings on PS4 and put my DNS settings to primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4 and was able to play today. You can try different DNS settings , some are using 1.1.1.1   1.0.0.1 if you google best DNS servers you will get loads of different ones to try. It seems something EA have done upsets Virgin Servers.

Probably the account where you have the PS Plus is not yor Primary account.

The solution is to block Ur secondary account from Ur primary account.

Then block the primary account from the secondary account.

Restart Ur PS4 the open fifa. Then restart Ur PS4.

The problem should now be sorted and u should be able to okay online. Enjoy guys.

I'm in the same boat. I'm about fed up with half the stuff that happen with ea. I have no problems with any other game but fifa 20 always seems to be messing up one way or another. My current problem is my account is invalid, I'm sorry was the £50 I paid not enough. I pre ordered the game and 1. Didn't receive any otw pack 2. Received non of the packs promised. I primarily want to get my account 'validated' but some form of compensation for my missing content wouldn't be terrible.

Dumbing the game down is costing them Fifa point sales. They thought they'd increase Fifa point sales, by making the game more casual. I enjoyed Fifa 19 up until the timed finesse shot nerf, because we had a consistent way of scoring. My playtime decreased significantly after the timed finesse shot patch.

As I said on here months ago, it's the hardcore whales who're putting the most money into the game. Why are you catering to the casuals again @EA? The shooting nerf after the last patch done nothing but make the game more casual. Learn from your mistakes EA, dumbing the game down on Fifa 19 cost you profit margins.

EA support are an absolute bunch of muppets!

My son has always been able to simply play Fifa 17, 18 & 19 and easily access EA servers to play FUT.  However, Fifa 20 is NOT allowing him access!

I contacted EA on 3 occasions, sending me links to webforms that DON'T work! Changing primary emails when I did NOT ask to do so, totally mucking up other games.

Shocking support, no knowledge on how to resolve the situation!

I told the idiots my son's iD, email & date when profile was created!  Again, the link to the so called web form did NOT work.

What a waste of 1 hour & 20mins of my life.

He would just need to create his own PSN ID and link it to an Origin account to play with the disc version.

If you have the digital version of FIFA rather than the disc, as long as the PS4 is set as your primary console any PSN ID conencting should be able to run it on that PS4 if they own the game or not.

Sharing PS+ requires the PSN ID with PS+ to set the PS4 as their Primary Console, then it should work.

I'm not seeing any noticeable delay. Possibly, alternate DNS servers will help. Please follow the instructions here. If you don't see a difference, try the Google DNS servers. Those are: Primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - Secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.

1. Go to the PS4 Settings > Account Management, and select Restore Licenses. Click OK when done.
2. Go to the internet settings -> network -> set up internet connection -> Wifi/LAN (depending which he uses) -> custom on the Playstation and fill in primary 1.1.1.1. and 1.0.0.1. as secondary.

 

Try playing again and let me know what happens. Thanks!

You've got some really high ping times before you reach our servers. If you haven't power cycled your modem, router and console, it would be good to start there. Also, try using alternate DNS servers with the instructions here: https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003048283-Changing-DNS-on-Popular-Gaming-Systems-PS.... If you don't see a difference, try the Google DNS servers. Those are: Primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - Secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.
