Wired Vs WiFi - My experience
If I was to record my gameplay playing wired, you'd think that it was completely normal. No stuttering at all, no freezing and no speed up lag.
However, for the last day or so I've been playing using WiFi, and despite the odd bit of what you'd stereotypically call lag, the gameplay is much more responsive. I actually feel in control, and despite the faults with the game, it's actually relatively enjoyable playing the game without any shackles.
It's an absolute disgrace that it's like this really, but I know my ethernet cable is being put away for the foreseeable.

Gonna try this entire weekend league on 4G. Let's see if I fare any better than my usual G2! It's probably my last serious WL before the new Star Wars game comes out anyway

This happens to me. My internet went down recently (1gb fibre) for a week while having some building work done, and I got a little EE portable hub thing and I played on 4g. Not only was my record better, I scored for fun.
More proof in the pudding that EA reward bad players and players with rubbish connections.

I play all games at the same way, Wi-fi. the unique that have delay and responsivness problems is FIFA.
COD, Battlefield, Siege etc, all smooth. the problem is not our internet, is their servers or whtv they have in the place of it

Same here.
Works even better on my 4g internet, shame I don't have unlimited data there.
Completely backwards isn't it. For some reason I can't collect to Xbox Live when I try to use my phone hotspot 🤔

I’ve experienced the same.
The game is smoother wired, but there’s button delay.
Whenever I switch to WiFi, I have a few lag spikes here and there but the game is much more responsive.
It’s odd because wired I get like 250/25 and on WiFi I only get like 100/15 or something.
Makes me wonder if I should play a full weekend on WiFi for once... 🤔

Been using WiFi bridge trough my phone to ps4 couple of days and gameplay is awsome. I used wired 500/200 before and had delay in all games. Now ps4 speedtest gives me 15/5 and no lag at all

I never know what to think about these threads, as everyone's experience seems to differ.
I live in the South East and can literally see the BT Exchange from my living room window.
With Wi-Fi (router downstairs) the connection on 19 was absolutely horrific and wasn't much better on 20.
I moved to wired 150/50 and put the router upstairs and the difference is pretty much night & day.
Usually when I lose it's against a better player.
Although I've definitely faced people who are attempting to lag switch, as its stuttery and then I score, they pause and voila the lag disappears.
Having said that I haven't tried Wi-fi now that I've moved the router, so I'll try it later on today and see.
I'm not sure it favours bad connections though, as mine was pretty bad last year and the speed up lag and button delay hit whenever it felt like.

My experience is I lag out in wireless because it's too far from the router, so it's kind of annoying in that aspect.
Gameplay seems smoother wired too

You're getting compensated for having worse connection. I felt this last year. I was wired up for 2 years. For FIFA 18 and 19. Towards end of 19. I had to use my wifi I ended up with a stupid record in rivals. Think it was 20 wins on the trot, I was lagging but winning games but when I got back to wired, I was getting delays, playing against super bad connections and I lost around 5 games in a row. Opponents even tho connection was bad, theyd make better passes and shoot better. It was strange. This was in div 4.
