I've just tried the same process with contract cards... Buy off the wheel via squad, it takes my coins and the screen freezes... Same thing off transfer tab. Buy the item takes my coins and no item...

Mine does the same and i just spam rb whilst the loading screen is on and hope it puts me on a different screen. It works sometimes and ive figured out that everytime you go on store or fut central it..
