Y, this happened to me today. Very annoying. The settings (files) got completely messed up (difficulty settings, control settings, sound sliders to 0, accessibility (brightness/contrast to 0), etc... ..

Hi @timharding1975 From the Personalization menu, then Settings, then Customize Control, you can reset to the default by clicking on the triangle if you are using ps4 or equivalent in other platforms...
