I had same issues after last update. Nothing after clicking play. Got it working by doing these last two steps: Running file checker to repair any corrupted files... Follow the steps in link..

If i have delay, it’s for the whole evening. It almost never changes between one game and the next one. If gameplay is smooth, same thing. Do you have an explanation for this??
