Ended up 9 - 3 using this formation after 9 - 9 using my "regular formation".
To be honest, as with every single aspect of this game, it is just impossible to know whether it worked or whether i just won the connection roullette more times in those 12 games. The only time i had real trouble was the last game against a pretty poor team playing 41212 wide and it was just a horrid connection. My passes were not happening until it was way too late, and he could skill round me because my defenders were stuck in mud. Games like that kinda just drive home that formations, tactics, systems, all make zero difference much of the time.
None the less, i will keep this formation and give it a go in rivals a bit, see if i can hit upon some semi-decent gameplay at some point
what kind of instructions/tactics are you using? gonna give this a try after I finish my wl games

Wingbacks both on "join attack"
CM's both on "stay back" (they dont really, but this helps keep them as a backwards passing option in later phases - somethign i picked up from Nivaze in your thread actually)
CAM on "stay forward"
Both ST on "Get in behind"
The last 2 instructions i am generally not keen on, but this weekend i could not get my strikers to move without it so meh. Probably could tweak the striker and CAM settings and the attacking style but beause this worked right away, i left it. May tinker a bit in rivals now since im finished WL
