Hi there, @Scallywaggles86.
When you are filling out the web form, you're asked for the email you have access to as well as the one you want to change. Are you sure you're putting the correct emails in these fields? If you put your old email in the field asking for the email you have access to, that is the one that will be used to contact you. Those would be going to the original email in that case. If this is what is happening, try filling out the form again and make sure you put the right emails in the right fields. Thanks!
