Putting a CB into CDM?

If I want a PURELY defensive CDM to sit back in front of the defense as a sort of anchor man to protect the back line, would it be useful to stick a CB in the CDM position? Obviously he'd have to have decent enough passing, but not necessarily deep lying playmaker level passing.

Currently using Casemiro who's highest level is 91 as CDM when using Powerhouse chemistry, although just checked and if I were to use Scream Pique there he'd be rated 94, and also has better passing than Casemiro.

Would have to go 5 at the back and switch in game, but just figured it might be worth a shot.

lol I'm still not able to score a FK, even after 400 games, so congratulations

If I were to use Pique in CDM, the only problem is his workrates. He's got High/Med, so I'm not sure if he'd sit back and perform how I want my CDM to perform. I'll have to try it out and see.

The best CDM I’ve used is base Koeman with Shadow chem. Start him in a 5 at the back then switch formation so he has full chem. He’s an absolute monster, and then his free kicks are insane— power free kick trait, 96 fk accuracy, 96 shot power, 90 long shots, 93 curve. I can finally score free kicks with him lol!
